Holger Rune sent a shady blow of separation to his Wimbledon invader.
Nr. 8-Rune Rune fell a two-set lead to a 4-6, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4 for the Chilean Nicolas Jarry at his opening of Wimbledon.
It is Wimbledon’s first round of Rune’s first round since 2022, but he was not praising Jarry’s return.
“I want to say, if I play normal, I’m beating him nine by ten times, with all respect for Nicolas Jarry,” Rune said afterwards. “Of course today it didn’t make it much easier with knee, but yes, it wasn’t great …
“Yes, I think I started well in the match playing well. Then the third group, a little unlucky.”
