Richardson Hitchins select Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney to win their fights on the 2nd card on May 2 at Times Square in New York. Haney’s Comeback match against former WBC and WBO champion Jose Ramirez (29-2, 18 COs) is the one he feels he can lose. Ramirez can hit and has the amateur tribe to win.
Former two divisions world champion Haney was dropped by Ryan three times and was probably rescued by the referee in the seventh round of their fight on April 20. If Haney’s chin is the same as the loss, Ramirez will use the weakness.
Rolly’s chin
Hitchins believes that the former WBA Light Welterweight Champion Rolly (16-2, 12 COs) can no longer take a punch as he was knocked out by Geronta Davis three years ago in 2022. He sees Garcia (24-1, 20 COs) as too much power for Romero to resist without standing out.
Richardson believes that Haney and Ryan are now just fighting for money and is not concerned about winning belts or improving their crafts. They are now business people and take fights that make financial sense.

Romero has always been a flawed fighter during his career. Mayweather promotions matched him against a poor opposition, and in 2020 he culminated in his controversial victory over Jackson Marinez. Rolly’s ninth round victory over 40-year-old Ismael Barroso on May 13, 2023, was equally questionable.
It was the one where referee Tony stopped the fight on weeks after Romero threw a combination of five punches that hit air. Nothing landed, but weeks the action stopped and Rolly gave a knockout victory. Barroso stood there like “What just happened?” No review, nothing. The whole thing performed in a WWE kit.

Devin and his father, Bill Haney, should think on Ramirez, 32, that he lost something from his best years from 2018 to 2021. Bill is like a vulture and chooses prey for his son, Devin.
