Hit longer discs in golf (without losing accuracy)


There is a good line between your driver’s stroke farther and its hit across the map. If you want to gain distance without losing accuracy, there are proven ways to do it. Take your time with each step and exercise. This is not about winning 20 yards at night. Even a yard at a time can make a noticeable difference in your game.

Stop your lead leg

When your lead leg is square, it blocks the rotation of your hip. Sometimes the upper body is thrown to compensate and you pull it or hit the driver with an open club. When you turn the lead leg 20 to 30 degrees, it makes it easier to rotate while in balance.

I like to put the square first and then turn the lead leg a little, so I know my attitude parallel to the target line.

Get a better coil

The training below from high -speed golf is what I had my son to work. He is 11 years old and wants to gain more power. This separate hand drill helps players feel a better coil.

If you want to swing more but you are not sure how to go about it, I would suggest working on this exercise to engage the big muscles and stay on the plane at the same time.

Try this divided workout:

  • Hold the club with the lead hand in the normal position and the hand of the tracks almost half the road below the axis.
  • Take a big turning back, leave the lead heel coming out of the ground if you need.
  • From the top, swing on the plane and direct the trail hip and shoulder through the impact. It feels (and looks like a little like a slap.

Hit the center of the face

This is evident, but many players struggle to hit the center of the club. The easiest way to increase the ball speed and reduce the distribution is to hook the center of the face.

Hits outside the center not only lose distance, but they can send you by following discs in the woods.

Try to get some feedback instances:

  • Take cassette
  • Hit five balls and mark the model.
  • Adjust the height of the Tee or your distance from the ball until they are constantly hit in the center.

Learn to close face without rolling

If you add speed, but your face remains open, it will cut it every time. The thell is to learn how to rotate the driver’s toe finger through the impact, so it’s square when you hit the ball. An impact bag is the perfect training aid for this action.

Impact bag drill:

  • Set a bag In front of a finger (no ball).
  • Shake in the bag, rotating your toe in it.
  • Hit the balls after each group, focusing on releasing the toe through influence, not rolling with your hands.

Force a strike up

To hit long discs, you want to hit top on the ball. If your attack angle is too steep and try to add speed, you will lose the right roads.

A simple head drill is one of my favorite ways to practice this. Remove driver And put it around a foot in front of your golf ball.

As you hit the discs, swing up and over the cover, do not hit it. Tee ball up when you are looking for more distance and make sure the ball position is in the front of your stay.

Get again slowly

One of the easiest ways to lose accuracy is to rush the club again. A quick intake pulls the arms from synchronization with your torso. A slower start helps make your oscillation stay tied, allowing you to deliver the club in time with more power.

Try this tempo suggestion:

  • Count “1-2-3” on the way back, and “1” along the way.
  • Feel the weight of the club in your hands throughout your back.
  • Let the wings fall naturally before the chest rotates.

Final thoughts

By adding distance NOT must mean sacrificing control. Every type here adds speed, but only if you stay balanced, concentrated and synchronized.
