This week’s star in PGA Tour at Trumpet has been clearly The Wissahickon course of Philadelphia Cricket Club.
Waiting for her first PGA Tour event, Cricket has shown little of everything this week. It took a beat to start the week, with light winds and soft greens on Thursday leading to a first round note on average more than three shots under the money. But the most difficult conditions led to an excess average on Friday and Saturday, while Sunday’s most difficult setting led to a fewer than a stroke.
That was all despite playing only about 7,100 yards on the score card, about 200-300 yards shorter than a typical PGA Tour composition.
“Look at this Cruise Course Course,” Lucas Glover told our Michael Bamberger. “You have a Par-Shot Par-3 where the cover is 100 yards, you have a 250-octrust peak peak where one side is death and you have two Par-3s that are between four different clubs. Look at the second hole (ninth to play members, one right, frugal right. 3S. The architect gives you so many choices.
Most people would pay hundreds of dollars to play a course like this. But this week, the best are being paid to play it. And quite nicely.
With that, here is the full division of salary for the trial championship this week played in Cricket Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course. The total bag is $ 20 million.
