The CJ CJ BYRON Nelson was a special tour for Scottie Scheffler long before the South Korean living company became a sponsor.
Scheffler, a local of Dallas, Texas, has gone to Bureau Nelson since he was a child. In 2003, a six -year -old Scheffler met with legendary Nelson while in the tournament. Eleven years later, Scheffler made his professional debut at Byron Nelson while playing in a sponsor exception as a 17-year-old. He ended up in a tie for 22 that week.
Eleven years later, the world no.1 added to his CJ Cup Byron Nelson history, fleeing the field to seek his 14th PGA Tour’s career victory. Scheffler opened his hometown tour with a 61 bubble and supported him with a 63 to enter the weekend with a six -stroke lead, the largest margin with 36 holes in PGA Tour since Brooks Koepka led the PGA 2019 championship with seven in half the point.
Scheffler increased his superiority to eight after three rounds, and he went to the TPC Craig Ranch on Sunday, eventually winning with eight strokes. Scheffler’s 72-year total of 252 connects the PGA Tour record for the lowest 72-year score.
The constant running of Scheffler’s immaculate game has left his game competitors in fear, including his friend and former world. 1 Jordan Spieth, who is trying to create ground in Scheffler now that he is completely healthy.
“What he is doing is inspiring, what he is doing is inspiring a given to say, it wasn’t so long ago I was definitely better than him, and now I’m not finally now,” Spieth said after shooting a 92 Sunday to end in fourth place. “I hate to accept this for anyone, but I just saw those first two rounds, and how should I get better.
