Heavyweight contender Stephan Shaw is currently working at Amazon while awaiting a fight

Two years ago he headlined a Top Rank Boxing card in Verona, California, and now heavyweight contender Stephan “Big Shot” Shaw (21-2, 16 KOs) is working for Amazon while he waits for his promoter to provide him with a new fight date.

In early 2025, Stephan Shaw signed a promotional deal with ProBox TV. The partnership was designed to keep him active throughout the year, but as things played out, the expected schedule did not come together, and as a result, Shaw had to find other means of employment.

Stephan Shaw, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, made his pro boxing debut in December 2013 when he stopped Jose Hermosillo in the first round. He would go on to win his next seventeen fights.

On January 14, 2023, then-undefeated Stephan Shaw took a step up in class when he faced hard-hitting Top Rank contender Efe Ajagba. It was a very competitive fight, but unfortunately for Shaw, all three judges scored the match 96-94 in favor of Efe Ajagba.

Six months later, Stephan Shaw was back in action when he stepped into the squared circle to fight Joseph Goodall. It was an action-packed fight that concluded when Australian heavyweight Joseph Goodall stopped Shaw in the sixth round.

After losing two fights in a row, Shaw bounced back by posting a pair of TKO wins. In January 2025, Stephan Shaw made a significant career move when he signed with ProBox TV. As part of the deal, Shaw was contracted to fight three times a year.

Three months after signing the deal with ProBox, Stephan Shaw was in action, facing Rafael Akpejiori. With 2:31 left to go in the opening round, Shaw knocked Akpejiori out cold when he landed a left hook followed by a vicious overhand right.

In his debut with ProBox TV, Shaw made an emphatic statement. After the dominant win over Akpejiori, Shaw expected to get two more opportunities to perform under the bright lights, but as is often the case in the ever-changing boxing schedule, the bouts never materialized.

With fight dates across the sport moving frequently due to budgets, timing and available slots, Shaw found himself waiting longer than expected for his next appearance.

Due to the extended period without a confirmed fight date, Shaw had to join the workforce. For the past month, heavyweight boxing competitor Stephan Shaw has been working as a DSP Delivery Driver for Amazon.

Shaw said that he would rather be in the ring, but as a man, a father and a husband, he has to take care of his family. While working at Amazon, some of Shaw’s co-workers recognize him, and they all want to go to his next match to see him fight live.

During his everyday life as a high-level boxer, Shaw’s average day during training camp consisted of running long distances, sprinting, sparring, shadow boxing, and practicing strength and conditioning exercises. Now his working days as a DSP driver involve delivering 100-200 packages a day.

33-year-old Stephan Shaw didn’t envision himself working for Amazon, but this is his new reality right now. Shaw remains optimistic about an immediate return to the ring. Shaw hopes his return to the squared circle will be main event status in his hometown of St. Louis. Louis, Missouri.
