The Indian Women’s National Cricket Team has been eliminated from the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. This happened after Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team lost against New Zealand Women’s National Team. Cricket Team in the final league game of the tournament.
Indian Women’s National Cricket Team depended on Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team to take them to the semi-finals. After suffering a disappointing loss to the Australian Women’s National Cricket Team, the equation was quite simple for India as Pakistan needed to beat the White Ferns by a narrow margin.
However, it was not to be as Pakistan lost by 54 runs against New Zealand who advanced to the semi-finals. The match between the two teams took place at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.
Pakistan had high hopes for India after putting up a solid bowling display. The Fatima Sana-led side put pressure on New Zealand as they not only controlled the flow of runs but also made sure to take wickets at intervals to keep the opposition under pressure.
Nashara Sandhua picked three wickets as the Pakistan Women’s National Cricket Team restricted the opposition to just 110 runs. However, it was a tough outing for them with the bat. They suffered a major collapse as they were reduced from 19/1 to 28/5.
After that, the New Zealand Women’s National Cricket Team bundled out the opposition for 56 runs to win the game. This marked the first time New Zealand qualified for the semi-finals since 2016 and also ended the Indian Women’s National Cricket Team’s campaign in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024.
