Promoter Eddie Hearn switched directions and leaned to Terence Crawford and defeated undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in their mega fight on September 13.
Hearn says that Crawford (41-0, 31 CO’s) is the ‘fresh’ man with the footwork, calm and self-belief to defeat Canelo. What changed Hearn was how Alvarez looked in his last battle against William Scull.
A defeat for Canelo against Crawford would be devastating for his career, which confirms in fans’ minds that he was always a limited fighter. Many people consider Canelo as a flat -foot fighter with no ability to move and cannot deal with competent boxers. He was either lost or got controversial victories when he fought talented fighters. Erislandy Lara, Floyd Mayweather Jr., and Austin Trout are examples of this.
Canelo’s recent decline
“Ring IK, movement, control of the struggle with the front hand, footwork, defense, calm and everything. This is the self -belief. I can’t say how much faith Crawford has,” Eddie Hearn told Feight -type. “He has no doubt in his mind that he is beating Canelo, and he does it easily.”
Crawford, of course, believes he beats Canelo because he saw how weakened in his last three fights. The way in which Canelo, 34, acted against IBF super-middleweight champion, William Scull, on May 3, he would lose against many of the top 168 pound fighters. You can also include the best guys of 154 pounds, such as Crawford. The Mexican star looks shot.
“He could beat all the big ones very well, but he never really got the chance. That’s why this battle is important to him, ‘said Hearn about Crawford. “After watching Canelo against Skull, I think he (Crawford) is the fresh man inside. I am very rarely back against Canelo Alvarez, but it won’t surprise me if Crawford has won the battle. ‘
It is a pity that Crawford never got the chance to fight all the best guys during his career to prove himself as one of the big ones. It is only now, late in his career at 37, that he eventually gets a chance, and he may not get the credit he wants, because Alvarez shows a serious decline in his physical skills.
Beyond Canelo: true greatness
If Crawford really wants to prove himself as a wonderful, he has to go up to 175 and the Dmitri Biscvol vs. Artur Betterbiev 3 -Trilogy -winner or David Banavidez adopt. It is assumed that Bud overcomes against Canelo on September 13. For Crawford to defeat benavidez or the Bivol-Beterbiev trilogy winner, it would be great and show that he is worth being in the top three of the big ones.
