Promoter Eddie Hearn says he wants a fight between unbeaten Andy Cruz and WBO lightweight champion Keyshawn Davis next. The match promoter, Hearn, mentions that KeyShawn (13-0, 9 COs) has no one available to fight now except his nemesis, cruz (5-0, 2 kos).

Keyshawn caught the 135-pound WBO belt last month and knocked out champion Denys Berinchyk in the fourth round on February 14 in Madison Square Garden in New York. Although Davis talked about how the new WBO champion will change his life in terms of major battles that fall into his lap, such as Isaac ‘Pitbull’ CruzIt didn’t happen.
Unless the top ranking with a large enough offer can come to attract Pitbull, there is no one popular enough for an interesting battle for Keyshawn. Maybe he doesn’t care. He has never fought anyone popular because he has become a pro -person and has spent a lot of time talking about what life will look like if he beats Gervonta Davis one of these days. He always dreams.
Keyshawn does not want to build itself to a fight against tank by facing the top-Rung talents. He just wants the fight to be given to him on a silver dish based on his lower -level fighters victories.
Andy cruz fight
The most realistic battle for Keyshawn is Andy Cruz, his four -time conqueror, but he will have to show a little courage because he did not want to participate in the talented Cuban, because he became a pro in 2023. Cruz called him out of the day one without any happiness, and there is no other way to look at Keyshawn’s reluctance as an extensive fear.
He beat Cruz four times in the amateurs, and he realizes that he will never hit him, no matter how big he becomes. Keyshawn seems to be a middleweight soon, because he is big after he has rehydrated for his fighting. For his last battle against the tiny 36-year-old Berinchyk, he looked like a junior middleweight on the night of the fight.
Poor Berinchyk never had a chance with a big man. It is a pity that all four sanctions bodies do not have a 10-pound rehydration clause like the IBF, because it makes it impossible for fighters who stand up to weight bullying.
Cruz is the rankings #1 WBC, #3 IBF, #3 WBA and #9 WBO. Interestingly, Hearn does not insist that WBC lightweight champion Shakur Stevenson is fighting against Cruz, but it is understandable. Hearn tries to determine the Gervonta Davis fight around Shakur, and the last thing he needs is for Andy Cruz to hit him before he fights.
Eddie’s pressure
“We want to push Andy Cruz into a big fight. There were a few talks about a possible battle in Riyadh in Saudi Arabia or a Ring Magazine show, ‘Eddie Hearn told @Cessarseda. “We would like to make a Keyshawn Davis fight. I look at the options for Keyshawn. Who is still there for him to fight what is available?
“It’s also a big fight,” Hearn says that Floyd Schofield is an option for Andy Cruz. “Schofield missed the Shakur Stevenson fight. Why not fight Andy Cruz? It’s a wonderful struggle. The battle would be in July, but we want to get him (Cruz) back a little sooner.
“It is clear that he had just fought in January (against Omar Salcido). May or June would be good for Andy, ”Hearn said.
Floyd Schofield probably won’t want to fight against Andy Cruz because he knew that Shakur Stevenson would finally look on his way and throw him a leg. He doesn’t want to waste his chances on a payday against Shakur by fighting against Cruz and getting school.
