England’s white ball captain Harry Brook may be part of the IPL 2026 auctionbut the 25-year-old is set to earn one of the biggest paydays of his career with the Northern Super Senders – formerly the Northern Super Senders – after signing a lucrative deal with Sunrisers Leeds.

According to ESPNcricInfo, Brook signed a deal worth £470,000 (approx. 5.26 crore) from the 2026 edition, making him one of the highest-paid players in the tournament’s new franchise era. Brook has been part of the Leeds-based side since 2021 and became the longest-serving goalscorer in the competition, taking over as captain in 2024.
Brook’s new signing is in his first major signing window since the Suns team took over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Sunrisers Eastern Cape (SEC), which achieved 100% pitch in the franchise earlier this year. Group 100 million TL (₹ 1092 crore.

In 2024, the England batsman last played in the IPL and was signed by Delhi Capitals (DC) for 6.25 crores. However, he was ruled out of the 2025 season due to injury or medical reasons — a move that angered multiple franchises.
A few teams have thrown their rosters into the lineup for draft after draft with foreign stars being drafted. In response, the board introduced a new rule:
Any player who withdraws from the IPL after being bought – due to a legitimate injury or ill health – or knowingly misses the mega auction – will face a 2-year suspension before entering the auction pool.
As a result, Brook cannot register for the IPL in 2026 or 2027, 2028, 2027 or 2027.
