England National Cricket Team striker Harry Brooke performed well with the bat in the ongoing first test against the opposition. Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The opening match of the three-match Test series between the teams is currently being played at Old Trafford in Manchester.
Harry Brook continued his golden touch with the bat as he once again played valuable innings for the England National Cricket Team in test cricket. The right-hander came out to bat and lost three quick wickets at 67/3 as the team struggled to get ahead.
Assigned the role of vice-captain in the ongoing series, Brook kept his team out of trouble and made sure they got some runs on the board. The young batsman hit some spectacular shots in his innings and many stood up and applauded his heroics.
Brook, who is going through a purple patch in Test cricket, put pressure on the bowlers of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. He first added 58 runs with Joe Root (42) and then stitched a 68-run stand with Jamie Smith, who was closing in on another half-century in Test cricket.
With the way Harry Brook was going, he looked ready for a big ton. But his stay at the crease was cut short by the brilliance of Sri Lanka National Cricket Team spinner Prabath Jayasuriya. The bowler came in with a dream delivery for the spinner and made sure to send the well-set Brook back to the hut.
Prabath Jayasuriya bowled a shot on the leg stump and it hit the top of the stumps. Harry Brook got up on the back foot and when he looked to poke, the ball whistled past his outside edge to beat the stumps. With the type of delivery, the batter could hardly do anything.
Prabath Jayasuriya comes with a jaffa to remove Harry Brook in ENG vs SL 1st Test.

Harry Brook completed his 9th Test half-century for the England National Cricket Team. The innings ended with 56 runs from 73 balls. His valuable knock made the team cross 200 runs on the board. After he got out, it was Jamie Smith who took over and kept his team in the hunt.
Asitha Fernando has been the pick of the bowlers for the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team. The fast bowler troubled England’s top order and picked three wickets in Ben Duckett (19), Ollie Pope (6) and Joe Root (42). Vishwa Fernando also picked a wicket.
At the start of Day 1, England took command of the game. They were asked to field first and produced a magical effort with the ball as they picked wickets in succession.
England bowled out Sri Lanka for just 236 runs, with Chris Woakes and Shoaib Bashir picking three wickets each. Their confidence is high as they recently won the three-match Test series against the West Indies.
