Hamzah Sheeraz says he will attend the Canelo Alvarez against Terence Crawford Fight on September 13 with the intention of possibly fighting the winner of their super fight.
Hamzah is on the ranking #1 WBC, #2 WBO, #4 WBA and #6 IBF.
Berlanga -acid test
Sheeraz (22-0-1, 18 CO’s) went on top of the Super Middle Weight rankings with its fifth round victory over Edgar Berlanga on July 12, 2025 in Queens, New York. Users on social media criticize the idea of Berlanga is used as acid test for Hamzah to get a title shot against the winner of the Canelo-Crawford match.
Edgar was recently beaten by Canelo by a wide 12-round decision on September 14, 2024.
Fans feel that Sheeraz had to earn a crack at the Canelo against Crawford competition by facing these contenders at 168:
- Christian Milli
- Diego Pacheco
- Osley Iglesias
- Jose Armando Resendiz
Sheeraz’s appearance in progress
“I’ll be there. I will be running. I will watch a very avid, careful. As a fan, as someone they may face. So, yes, I’ll be there, and I’ll watch closely, ‘says Hamzah Sheeraz to ring the magazine X about his plans to get the Canelo Alvarez against Terence Crawford match on September 13.
The Adames pull
The battle was the 27-year-old Hamzah’s debut on 168 after a very controversial 12-round split against WBC middleweight champion Carlos Adames earlier this year on February 22 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Many boxing fans believe that Adames earned the victory in that competition. Adames landed a significant benefit in power urban, which is connected to Seeraz at 90 to 48. He exceeded Hamzah 143 to 135 in total blows.
After the fight, there was talk of Sheeraz who fought with a broken left hand. Interestingly, he chose not to fight Adames in a re -broadcast to clean up the controversy. The excuse did not work with fans, who believe that Sheeraz was exposed in that battle.
