Hamzah Sheeraz made Edgar Berlanga look bad during their face on Dazn, and he exposed himself to deceive his performance in his loss of the undisputed Super Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez in 2024.

Sheeraz exposes Berlanga’s Canelo deception
Berlanga (23-1, 18 COs) painted a photo in interviews on how the struggle was an exciting war, but Sheeraz threw water on it by saying that it was not played. The only round in which Edgar fought aggressively was in the 12th, and by that time it was too late.
Sheeraz (21-0-1, 17 CO’s) and Berlanga are on July 12 in a 12-round super-middleweight fight on Dazn ppv at the Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York.
Turki Alalshikh recently said on X that he would be it “Very upset” If Sheeraz loses against Berlanga by knocking out because he has it “Big plans” for him. It is believed that the battle that Turki wants for Hamzah is next February against Canelo.
Due to Berlanga’s one-sided 12-round unanimous loss of decision to Canelo in 2024, he is not someone who can use Turki as opponent.
Berlanga’s fake Canelo narrative

It is crazy that Berlanga is trying to make it look like his fight with Canelo was a counter-to-tone war, because it was nothing like that. The whole battle is on YouTube, and you can see that Berlanga runs timid box and on egg shells from rounds 1 to 11. He only fought in the 12th hard, and even in that round, Canelo became the best of him. Berlanga’s large size and youth benefit did not help him.
“It’s all coming down on winning, and have you won?” said Sheeraz. “That’s the reality of it.”
Berlanga’s misleading view of struggle
“Look at Arturo Gatti and Ward,” says Berlanga.
“So, you say that your struggle (with Canelo) was like that?” said Sheeraz.
“I’m not saying that. No one talks about the winner or the loser. They talk about the war they had, ‘Berlanga says.
What does Berlanga talk about on earth? His struggle with Canelo was nothing like the wars that Arturo Gatti and Micky Ward had. It was the contrary. Berlanga covered the majority of the fight and had a horrible performance in the loss.
What is surprising is that Turki still chose to use him as opponent for Hamzah Sheeraz to fight rather than one of the talented contenders on 168, such as Christian Mbilli or Osleys Iglesias. The two are much better fighters than Berlanga. However, they are not New Yorkers and will not sell tickets or bring PPV purchases on Dazn. However, the tickets do not sell, which shows that Berlanga is not a good draw. Turki made a mistake using him.
