The teenage sprint sensation will be targeting the Australian under-18 100m record of 10.27 in Brisbane.
Gout Gout, the teenage sprint superstar who has captured global attention, will compete over 100m at the Australian All Schools Championships (December 6-9).
The 16-year-old, who has already been compared to Usain Bolt at the same age, will target Sebastian Sultana’s Australian under-18 100m record of 10.27 in Brisbane this weekend.
If Guth can achieve that feat, he will hold the Australian under-18 100m and 200m records.
Last month The teenager finished fourth on the under-18 200m all-time listto his 20.29 finish at the Queensland All Schools Track and Field Championships.
Not only was it enough for Gut to take the under-20 national record by half a lap, but he also became the fastest Australian in the 200m since 1993.
For Gaut to be the Australian under-20 100m record holder, he will need to run faster than the 10.15 that Jake Doran clocked in 2018.
Guth first caught people’s attention two years ago when he ran the 100m in 10.57 and has since improved his personal best by three-tenths of a second.
It is over 200m where he has made the biggest impact, however, last summer Gut won an excellent silver medal at the U20 World Championships in Lima by half a lap. settling behind South Africa’s Bayanda Walaza.
