The series officially started with a bike lottery ceremony where each rider received a racing machine to accompany them throughout the season. Over the next two days of adrenaline-filled track action, all certified drivers experienced for the first time the unmistakable sound and character of the Milwaukee-Eight V-twin powered Road Glide race machines. Sunday’s schedule includes a short race simulation that allows teams and drivers to experience the unique start process that defines a race weekend.

“This first test represents an important milestone for the championship and the series as a whole. Over the weekend, the riders completed 578 laps, which gave us very positive feedback in terms of safety and overall performance. It was also exciting to see the riders experience the sound, power and exceptional performance of these bikes for the first time. The point-and-shoot style teams and riders talked about the racing bikes, the track and each other. It was a valuable time of comparison and learning, allowing them to understand each other ahead of the first races.

“This test was amazing. We completed a lot of laps and spent a lot of time working on the bike to understand it well. Everything was new for me, a new machine, a new team and a different way of working, and the bike is very different from what I’m used to. The riding position is very unique and you need some time to get used to it, but after a few laps it makes you feel comfortable and confident. You can feel it’s built like a real racing machine, really one of the best things I’ve heard. It’s one of the things to adapt your driving style a bit, but if you understand how to use it, we’re on a good path, we’ve worked out a lot of configuration options and now it was important to test it on the same road where we compete.
