When is your favorite day of the day to play golf?
For me, it’s the evening. The sun is setting and you only have time for a couple more holes. The course is mostly empty while walking alone and the only sounds are golf Sounds – Thud of Impact, small noise of your clubs, clicking the ball that hits the bottom of the cup.
In those moments, golf is healing. The chaos of life is replaced by an argument on earth and the humble game played in it.
At some level, we all came to Golf for this feeling of connection.

We all want to reduce our results and benefit as much as possible from our games. This pursuit is permanent in its mission, so there will always be more runways to cover.
But when you pull back and watch the golf from a 30,000 -foot view, we players are met by less than MORE.
Our golf spirits are satisfied with the simplest and cleaner pleasures. We all just want a sense of belonging – by ourselves, with nature, with our partners playing and with the game.
When it comes to golf products, I am partial to the people and companies that know this real understanding of golf. They entered the business organically because they want to share it with you.

A golf bag made of natural materials (and love)
Johan and Lissette Laurin were like many of us during the Pandemis.
Johan felt trapped inside their home in Landskrona, Sweden, about 30 minutes north of Malmö. A social person who was accustomed to traveling to the world for work, Johan found himself spending endless hours stuck in his office.
“He was home, but he was not present,” Lissette said. “He started to become gray. I told him he had to do something to go out.”
But everything was closed. He normally played tennis, but the courts were closed.
Like many others, Johan decided to play golf. Before Covid, he had played some social rounds a year, but never considered the sport to be more than that.
Now he was playing with a purpose to cut his handicap in half. He received new clubs for the first time in 23 years and began playing constantly.
“But after a while, I began to realize that (getting better) was not why I’m here,” Johan said. “I am here because I break away from work. I’m walking in the fresh air and just thinking about golf.”
That epiphany was the true beginning of the pine coast.
While Johan found himself entering as many holes as he could – seven holes at lunch, five evening holes or any time could be allowed that day – he found himself asking himself if he needed all 14 clubs.
The point of playing was to play. He was here for restoring mental health to be out and enjoying a good unspoiled walk.
Being fewer clubs, using an easier bag, became an intriguing option.
Until the fall of 2022, Johan began to think about how he would design a bag on Sunday that would help him walk exactly as he predicted.

Lissette, which received Golf shortly after Johan was regenerated by the game (she now plays even more than he), agreed with her husband.
“I started looking for a bag to give him as a Christmas gift, and I’m very aware of what I’m buying,” Lissette said. “I didn’t want to buy a random bag or a small pencil bag made in China, where I can’t see where the product was coming from.
“There was nothing here in Europe. It was a trench in the market.”
Things moved quickly from there. The mother of Lissette is from Eastern Poland, so they went to her hometown, where creating leather products is a point of pride.
In January 2023, Johan and Lissette brought drawings of their now shared concept of Sunday Bag. Immediately, they reached a close relationship with a tailor in the city who was able to bring their vision to life, despite never making a golf bag before.
What came into existence was something special: A modern but timeless handmade bag of Sunday Built from Scottish wax cotton and Italian skin stemming from a fourth -generation Tuscany Torner.

More than 4,000 miles west of Sweden, I have started forming a connection to the Pine Coast’s bag on a beautiful executive course down the road from me here to Nashville.

“Especially with men, we tend to bury things,” Johan said. “Four of the five suicides are men, and golf is a sports dominated by men. So if we bring these issues and start the conversation, this is what we want to do.”
