Gleyber Torres sent a farewell message to Yankees fans

The New York Yankees have been spending most of the offseason in the spotlight, as their star outfielder Juan Soto was the top free agent this year.

After losing the World Series to the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Yankees were also heartbroken when Soto signed with the New York Mets.

The Yankees were able to bounce back because they added many key pieces for the 2025 season.

While the roster looks good heading into the season, they will be without longtime outfielder Gleyber Torres as he signed with the Detroit Tigers.

After his departure, Torres issued a farewell message to the Yankees organization and its fans.

“Yankees fans, thank you for everything. Thank you for your unconditional support, you were always there to motivate me when I was having good times and not so good times,” Torres wrote on the B/R Walk-Off. through

Torres debuted with the Yankees in 2018 and has been with the organization for his entire seven-year career.

Although Torres had a tough time, he was grateful for his time with the team.

In 2024, Torres played 154 games and batted .257 with 15 home runs, 63 RBI and a .708 OPS.

Torres will now join a young Tigers team that surprised many by making the postseason and knocking off the Houston Astros in 2024.

The Yankees enter 2025 with a different look than their 2024 World Series team, but still look like one of the best clubs in the American League.

Making their first World Series appearance since 2009, the Yankees will look to make another postseason run and win their 28th title in franchise history.
