Reflecting on his raising against tennis legends of Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the US Open Media Day, Grand Slam said 24 times the champion he could connect with players seeking to disrupt the dominance of Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
“I’m joined with the third boy because I was in those shoes with Feder and Nadal,” said a smiling Gjokovic. “I want to see a third guy coming in.”
The dynamic rivalry between Sinner and Alcaraz has quickly amazed the imagination of tennis fans around the world, attracting attention and excitement in the same way as Feder and Nadal. Djokovic is a fan of “Sincaraz” too – can you blame it?
“When it comes to individual sports like ours or boxing, Formula 1 races, whatever, golf, people want to see rivalries,” Gjokovic explained. “I think their rivalry is, of course, the best we have at the moment. And it seems that it will stay for some time.”

However, the Serbian legend, who will make an effort to win a 25th record title during Flushing Fort -Week, believes another contender will come out to postpone the two new stars. “And then you definitely have other new players who will definitely challenge them, and hopefully someone can get into the mix,” he said. “There are players who are able to have that place Joker, third place.”
