I recently dumped my driver in favor of a mini driver. What found its way into my bag more often than not is Callaway Elyte Mini. I just finished playing a few rounds with her and wanted to share my thoughts on why it worked for me.

What worked on me
In general, the feeling of Callaway Elyte mini is similar to any driver I hit with a titanium face. It feels good in the middle (when I hit it miraculously there) and less stellar in wrongdoing.
In terms of sound, it’s not as loud as my normal driver, which is a good thing. It is more silent and less designed, more similar to a road metal.
Forgiveness and distribution
What worked on me
I need all the help I can get. The 340cc size of the Elyte mini head may sound small on paper, but it is very large in general. It doesn’t look so small compared to my triple smoke diamond. I tend to lose in the toe and, for all goals and goals, Elyte Mini was well held in this regard.
A toe ball would really cost me 20 or more yards, but that’s understandable. Thing everything around the center of the face tried to be quite forgiving and I hit a ton of roads with this guy.
The ball speed and the distance
What worked on me
In general, the Elyte Mini is about four mph slower than my driver and this will be expected. My only goal with this club was to bring it to about 240 yards. I have been able to reach it constantly with my 95-98 mph swing.
It is taller than my 3rd and slightly shorter than my driver. Just as you will expect.
Workability and trajectory
What worked on me
As for the workability, as left, I tend to hit a large draw (the ball starts left and moves right) and I saw it all, but a shot moves this way. So it’s easy to turn it. I wouldn’t say it’s biased in any way. I am more prone to say that it is set for a neutral ball flight.
Attention is the fact that Elyte Mini has a removable weight to help call in your shot form.
The trajectory was high enough for me, given the 11.5 degree head and my tendency to hand over the club to the Top. It was not too high, though, where it was balloon or being absolutely killed by the wind.
I would say it was a very similar ball -to -ball flight to what I would wait for with my normal driver. If you are looking to lower your ball flight, however, I would look elsewhere.
cONcluSiON
Is Elyte Mini Driver right for you? Based on my initial test on the course, it’s now staying in my bag. I am objectively hitting more straight roads, hitting it far beyond my 3-dude, and find the center of the face more often with the shortest axis.
It works for me. Will it work for you? That is for you to decide. What I can say, however, is if you struggle to make constant contacts with your driver, shortening the shaft slightly with a mini like Callaway Elyte can simply be the thing to help you find more right roads.
