There’s no reason why that shouldn’t hold between the two, but Marquez will have more of a spark in the championship fight.

“I think Marquez is the best in history with Valentino and Peco is coming into that group,” he said. He’s already beaten[Casey]Stoner, for example, to me with the results he’s getting.
“And I beat Peco, so where does that leave me? I don’t mean to brag. My feet are on the ground, I know I still have a long way to go.”

With Marquez taking Martin’s seat at Ducati, the reigning champion will join Aprilia Racing for 2025.
The problem is that they have not finished higher than fourth in the Championship in the last three seasons and have been relegated.
The two greatest riders on the grid are in the best position to win and will almost certainly prevent any Aprilia miracle.

It’s a shame for Martin, who deserves a chance to properly defend his title, but there’s not much he can do about it.
At least he’s in better shape than his rivals at KTM, who may find themselves off the grid in the coming seasons following some financial woes.
