Unfortunately, Big George Foreman has died, but he will remain a legendary figure in the history of the box forever. Foreman was a bona fide all the time, and he was an inspiration for millions of people.
Age is just a number – it was the ideal that the Big George embraced when the former heavyweight champion made an unexpected comeback in 1987. Foreman was 38 years old, the heavyweight championships lost against Muhammad Ali in 1974, and George did not fight in ten long years. The return was initially not taken very seriously. For a foreman, it earned an opportunity to challenge the unbeaten, undisputed world champion for heavyweight Evander Holyfield. The fight took place in April 1991, and Foreman made an admirable effort, but was lacking. It turned out that it was the end of the road for foreman, but he arrived. A few battles later, he lost a going decision against Tommy Morrison, at which point foreman was written off as a serious contender.
In November 1994, after being out of action 17 months after the Morrison loss, Foreman got the chance to challenge the new world champion for heavyweight, Michael Moorer. The victory also made foreman a 2-time heavyweight champion. Surprisingly, the two Championships of Foreman were separated by more than 20 years.
