Garcia rips Haney for dragging up old PED drama

Ryan Garcia went after Devin Haney on social media today, responding to him trashing him over his failed PED test after their April 2024 fight.

Haney reminded his followers today on X that Garcia (24-2, 20 KOs) “failed” a test with VADA. The failed test came after his victory over Devin, in which he dropped him three times and had him on the verge of being stopped in the seventh.

Garcia responded to Haney, letting him know that he “can’t take a loss,” and still is try to whiten what happened to him that night at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

“He failed the state commission test and the VADA test. Stop the cap, that’s why he looked like s***, his next fight (against Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero) when he was clean after we had him tested for 6 months straight,” Devin Haney opines Xtalks about why he lost to Ryan Garcia.

It is unclear why Haney chose to discuss the events of his loss to Ryan. He’s already been suspended, fined, and had his winning result changed to a no-contest by the New York State Athletic Commission. Haney would be better off sitting back and hoping that Garcia wins his next fight against Mario Barrios on February 21, 2026 rather than bringing his positive test out of their fight.

“You can’t take a loss on the chin. It’s sad. You looked like the next fight (against Jose Ramirez). What was your excuse?” Ryan said in a rebuttal to Haney on X.

“Obviously I took something that was contaminated, or tampered with; that’s a fact,” Garcia said on social media. “Get over it. I didn’t train for the year after the Haney fight, and it showed in my next fight. My body couldn’t bounce back as fast or my mind. Stop being ab*** and take an L, stupid.”
