Tottenham will be in confident mood heading into Istanbul. Ange Postecoglou’s men bounced back from a disappointing defeat at Crystal Palace in style, beating Manchester City in the Carabao Cup earlier. an impressive comeback win over Aston Villa Sunday in the Premier League.

Gala will certainly make life difficult for their English visitors. RAMS Park will be hot on Thursday night and the Turkish side have taken seven points from their opening three games, most recently beating Elfsborg 4-3 in a crazy affair. They also lead the Super League as they defend their crown.

Victor Osimhen

Galatasaray are yet to play in November and should be well rested for the visit of Spurs on Thursday. Okan Buruk should field their strongest line-up available, with only left-back Ismail Jakobs absent through injury.

Napoli loanee Victor Osimhen is likely to be concerned about an injury-riddled Spurs defense with first-choice goalkeeper Fernando Muslera returning from a European ban at the other end of the pitch.

Former Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira will be key in midfield, while Norwich City’s summer signing Gabriel Sara has made a fast start to life in Istanbul. Ex-Spurs centre-back Davinson Sanchez will lead the back line.

Gala have a deep squad and will also be able to call on the likes of Hakim Ziyech, Dries Mertens and Michy Batshuayi.

Expected line-up of Galatasaray against Tottenham (4-2-3-1): Leg brace; Ayhan, Sánchez, Bardakci, Jelert; Torreira, Sara; Yilmaz, Mertens, Akgun; Osimhen

Cristian Romero

Spurs have some injury concerns after Sunday’s 4-1 win against Villa, with Cristian Romero withdrawn with a foot injury. The Argentine is a major doubt for Thursday, with fellow central defender Micky van de Ven still out with a hamstring problem.

Richarlison suffered his own hamstring problem from the bench against Villa, ruling him out of the trip to Istanbul. He is joined on the sidelines by Wilson Odobert, who has only made one appearance since mid-September due to fitness issues.

Djed Spence is closing in on a return, but Thursday’s encounter may come too soon for the full-back, with Archie Gray potentially deputizing to allow Pedro Porro another well-deserved rest. Radu Dragusin and Ben Davies will be the central pair in Turkey.

James Maddison has struggled for minutes in recent weeks and may earn a break. They could feature the likes of Lucas Bergvall, Timo Werner and youngster Mikey Moore, while skipper Son Heung-min is likely to be rested.

Tottenham predicted line-up against Galatasaray (4-3-3): Vicar; Gray, Dragusin, Davies, Udogie; Bergvall, Bissouma, Maddison; Moore, Solanke, Werner.

Gala’s three Europa League games have been goal feasts. In fact, 15 goals have been scored in the games, with Spurs also known for being involved in entertaining and high-scoring encounters. Postecoglou is expected to make several modifications, the likelihood of a thriller increases.

The outcome depends on how many changes the Australian makes to his starting eleven, but injuries at the back will force him to field a weakened back line. Gala’s menacing attack, which includes Osimhen, should create plenty of chances, with Spurs’ much-changed side perhaps falling short in Turkey.

Prediction: Galatasaray 3-2 Tottenham
