Veteran Gabe Rosado says Edgar Berlanga is ‘misleading’, and believes he has been a big draw since his fight against superstar Canelo Alvarez last September. Rosado says Berlanga (23-1, 18 CO’s) thinks that the PPV success of his fight against Canelo was due to its popularity rather than the Mexican star. He considers Edgar out of touch with reality, and believes that he is a great draw and a star.
Rosado points out that Berlanga’s last battle against the inactive Jonathan Gonzalez Organ in the Caribe Royale in Orlando, Florida, failed to sell out of the sale in March. The venue has a seat capacity of 5000 seats, but the opportunity was still not a sale.
Gabe still sounds bitter that Berlanga chose not to fight against him. The two were reportedly negotiated for a fight in February or March in Puerto Rico. However, this never happened, and Rosado Still looks salt about it.
Türkiye’s choice: headliner
Despite Rosado’s criticism, Turki Alalshikh has chosen Berlanga To leave his 12th July card against Hamzah Sheeraz at a PPV event at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. Turki likes Berlanga enough to put him in the main event, rather than choosing the Shakur Stevenson against William Zepeda fight as the main liner.
“If you thought you were the star you thought you were, why wasn’t it sold out? Why was it in a small ballroom, and is it still not sold out? ‘ said Gabriel Rosado Dazn boxand discussed Edgar Berlanga’s last battle against 35-year-old Jonathan Gonzalez Organ on March 15 in Orlando, Florida.
If Berlanga wins his battle against Sheeraz and looks good like he with his first knockout of Gonzalez Organ, Turki will surely use him for a larger competition against Caleb Plant or Jermall Charlo. As long as Edgar continues to win and look good, he will probably continue to fight in Turki’s events.
“As a match fighter, Eddie Hearn kept his word, kept his promise to get the Canelo battle,” Rosado said. “You got that suitcase, and then you leave him because you don’t want to resign. How do you not want to resign with someone who kept their word and you got the amount of money you would never have earned before? ‘
Why Berlanga left the match room
It seemed bad that Berlanga left Hearn rather than recycled with his match room business after his contract expired in March. Hearn got him the Canelo battle. However, Berlanga was partly justified in leaving the match room because Hearn did not invest money to get him a title against the then IBF super-middleweight champion William Scull for March.
Edgar felt Hearn should have done it. If he did, he said he would have destroyed Scull, and that he would fight Canelo in a re -broadcast for the 168 -pound undisputed championship.
“Then you think you (Caleb) plant and (Jermall) are going to fight Charlo. What do you think, PBC is going to pay you that (money)? Come, Bro. Do you know the boxing business? Canelo was your struggle. You are misleading because you thought you did the numbers. Canelo did the numbers, ‘Rosado said.
Berlanga’s future with Turki
As long as Turki Berlanga uses his events, it doesn’t matter what PBC will do. He will ensure that he has paid well for the fighting against plant or Charlo if it is the one he is interested in. It is difficult to predict which battles Turki would be interested in taking care of Berlanga if he conquered in his fight against Sheeraz.
