Fundora defends against Booker, Garcia vs. Gausha on March 22

WBC and WBO junior middleweight champion Sebastian ‘The Towering Inferno’ Fundora (21-1-1, 13 COs) did the final work in 14 days on March 22 on PBC on the final work before his title defense against Chordale Booker (23-1, 11 COs) Prime video At the Michelob Ultra Arena in Las Vegas. Fundora, 27, looked good in a training grip ready for his upcoming match.

Booker, 33, is not the opponent that box fans want to defend the 6’5 1/2 ″ Fundora by next, but he is a mix of issues that forced him to take this man.

Sebastian suffered a broken nose on March 30 last year in his 12-round decision on Tim Tszyu, which took time to heal. Then Fundora was supposed to defend against former Unified Welterweight Champion Errol Spence Jr., but the fight fell apart and left him empty -handed.

Now, #5 WBO and #14 WBC Booker gets the shot after all the problems. Booker has won his last six battles against opposition at a lower level since he was knocked out by Austin ‘Ammo’ Williams on April 30, 2022. It is the only significant opponent on the nine -year resume of Chordale, making it difficult to know if he is good.

It is impossible to see if Booker has improved because his last six opponents were unclear. All we can say is that he jumped back from his blow-out loss to ammunition, and the WBC and WBO thought very much enough of him to give him a top ranking with their organizations.

On the bottom map of Fundora-Booker, super-middleweight Elijah Garcia (16-1, 13 COs) is adopted by veteran Terrell Gausha (24-4-1, 12 COs) in a 10-round fight. The highly regarded prospect Garcia, 21, is upset in his last fight by Kyrone Davis and loses a 10-round decision on June 15 last year.

‘Things change all the time. Opponents fall by. Events fall by. With Booker, we trained hard to have our first defense of our united titles, ”says Sebastian Fundora. “I’ll do what I always do. We are all professional boxers trying to reach the world championship status. I’m here now. There were some obstacles along the way, but I will keep doing what I do and practice hard to do well. I am excited about who we are fighting next. “
