We have not yet seen our first real golf goal, but at least we have real news! Ryder Cup captains KEEGAN BRADLEY AND Luke Donald have announced their relevant teams for Friday’s first session on Foursomes.
In the country in Bethpage Black, our writers give their immediate reactions – from the biggest surprise to the most exciting match to the fact that one party has already gained an advantage.
Dylan dethier: Good band, I will serve as hosts here. We’ve just seen couples go out – here’s what we have:
Friday four (all Times et)
7:10 am. Rahm / Hatton vs dechambeau / thomas
7:26 am Aberg / Fitzpatrick Vs Scheffler / Henley
7:42 am Mcilroy / Fleetwood Vs Morikawa / English
7:58 am Macintyre / Hovland Vs Schaffele / Cantlay
Sitting for the USA team: Sam Burns, Ben Griffin, Jj Spaun, Cameron Young
Sitting for the European team: Rasmus Hoygaard, Shane Lowry, Justin Rose, Sepp Straka
1. Which match are you more excited to follow?
Sean zak: First, yesterday! There will be fireworks, perhaps from the first swing of the event if Dechambeau can direct the 1st green. But Vegas likes the duo of Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hattonand for good reason.
James Colgan: This first match has the opportunity to end Western civilization before most Bethpage loyalists have received their first cup of coffee. Holy hell, what a good time.
basic: If Bryson does not have a first move in green, I am jumping on the media ship and going back to New Jersey. Rory and Tommy will also be a joy to see, and I’m eager to see if Xander and P-Ice still possess their match magic. Xander’s shape is, very intended jobs, a major X factor this week.
alacrity: Bryson is rightly headliner. But that second match is such an interesting mix of styles-and includes the undisputed world no. 1. Time to prove the stress that Duo Scheffler-Henley that looked promising in the President’s Cup. And if the team Europe steals a point in the second or fourth game, it could be a vanguard of a boredom that will come…
2. Any surprising omissions – or inclusion?!
ZAK: He really thought that New York’s Cam Young would play as many matches as possible. He is playing the best golf of his life and he uses the same ball as Dechambeau. He would imagine he comes out early in the afternoon. The biggest surprise? According to Datagolf is fascinating The optimal pairing separationMorikawa / English is one of the worst possible adaptations. (Depending on who strikes the first shooting, they are either 130 or 132 -best from 132.)
Colgan: Not necessarily a talent Leaving, but I was surprised when I saw Luke Donald shared the Aberg/Hovland pair. He duet was so Freaking good in Rome. I think many golf fans are forgetting how important they were for European success in ’23. Maybe we’ll see them in the afternoon.
Basic: I was still hoping that Keegan would rethink his decision to adorn himself. Nah, honestly, there are no big surprises here. Given one -third of the Open Open team are Rookies, realizing that we will see the veils leading the way to opening.
alacrity: I would have thought we would see either young or griffin instead of Harris English – but I think it will be the case of Friday afternoon in the country. Morikawa / English should be the largest substrates of the first session, though. I would also doubt that we would see the Lowry Shane in the quadrilateral. Another part of the note: Although Justin Rose is 7-2-1 in his fourfold career, he did not play a quadrilateral session in Rome and it looks like he could not play one here, nor.
3 Based on these matches only, which side has the advantage of the first session?
ZAK: Small advantage for euros, who are playing their eight genuine players. If Americans win this session, it’s a big statement.
Colgan: Agreed, Sean. Great pressure immediately from the stick in Morikawa and Harris English – long viewed as two of the most vulnerable Americans – not to be smoked by Mcilroy/Fleetwood in that third group. It really feels like that first pairing of Bryson/JT Vs Rahm/Hatton has the opportunity to set tone for the whole cup.
basic: US cannot It falls into an early hole, but, yes, when I look at those names, it is not to give the paper advantage in the euro. The jt shape is disturbing. In that opening match, I definitely give Rahm and Hatton advantage.
alacrity: I would give a little advantage for the euro and it seems that Vegas would also be; The chances of the Americans went from -155 to -145 after the announcement. However, the latest story would tell you not to count the local team in any fourth match. Real answer? The tight giant.
4 Which players do you think will go all five sessions?
ZAK: It is a lot, but I can see completely all Mcilroy, Rahm, Aberg, Fleetwood play five sessions. As for Americans, is Scottie Scheffler, Russ Henley and PERHAPS Bryson dechambeau.
Colgan: Mcilroy, Fleetwood, Rahm, Scheffler, Dechambeau, Cantlay.
Basic: Scheffler, Scheffler and Scheffler.
alacrity: Scottie, Rory, Tommy, Rahm. I think we see a very balanced attack by Americans.
5 You may have said this at other round tables, but simply to be clear: which team wins and what is the end result?
ZAK: Europeans lead early. Europeans lead in the middle. But Americans lead late. I will say that Europe enters Sunday leading 9-7 and loses the battle of depth on Sunday. The US wins 15-13.
Colgan: I’m changing my outcome prediction. 15.5-12.5 USA. The euro is 100 percent the best team, but the advantage of the home field is so important.
basic: (Checks last week’s Tour confidential) Europe 14.5, USA 13.5, in a harasser of ages.
alacrity: Fears me to line up with these two other jokes, but I am staying strong at 15.5-12.5 USA.
