World Series MVP Freddie Freeman battled an ankle injury during the regular season.
He looked like a shell of himself throughout the postseason and for weeks before catching fire in the Fall Classic and ripping four homers while driving in 12 runs to knock off the New York Yankees.
It was no surprise that Freeman had to clean up his ankle in the offseason, and he recently shared a message with fans following ankle surgery.
Freeman posted a picture of her recovery on Instagram, flashing her infamous smile and giving a thumbs up with her ankle elevated and squatted.
The picture was captioned: ‘Worth a ring.’

Freeman hit just .259 in September and had five hits (all singles) and one walk over the first two postseason rounds with no home runs and one RBI.
It was no secret that he was dealing with an ankle injury as he missed several games in the NLDS and NLCS with it, but he looked as good as he ever has in the World Series.
Injuries aren’t something fans are used to with Freddie, as he is one of the sport’s last true ironworkers and strives to play every game every season.
It’s great to see him in good spirits and there’s no doubt he’ll be ready to go next season.
