Francisco Lindor is making a big personal statement

New York’s Messi family got a whole lot bigger this week when the team signed free agent Juan Soto to the largest 15-year, $765 million contract in professional sports history.

As big as that signing was, the news didn’t stop there, as shortstop Francisco Lindor announced Friday that the Mets family is about to get a little bigger even after Soto’s announcement.

The SNY Mets recently shared a photo from Lindor’s Instagram with X showing the shortstop and his family holding up an ultrasound print with the caption: “All eyes on you baby. Party of 5 coming soon.”

You can’t get a better gift for the holiday season than that, and congratulations are in order for Lindor and his wife, who are hoping to have a smooth pregnancy and welcome a healthy, happy baby into their family next summer.

Each of Lindor’s four seasons in New York has been better than the last, and he will now host Soto to provide a defense unlike anything he’s had before.

Lindor just turned 31 and is in the prime of his career, so what better time to add another member to the family?

There are still questions to be answered in free agency for the Mets, particularly the status of first baseman Pete Alonso, who remains on the open market and would be a huge loss for this organization even after Soto is signed.

Many blessings to the Lindor family, and we hope the new addition to the family brings him even more success on the court.
