Four new PXG leaders have landed on the list of USGA conforming clubs.
I think this should not come as a real surprise. Black ops is about two years old, and well, let’s say we would know we’ll see some new things Pxg this fall.
That being said, I’m not sure I would bet on four new driver models from PXG.
As usual, USGA photos leave little to be desired in terms of the main details of the difference, but there are quite visible in future lightning drivers for at least making things interesting.
Let’s take a look.
Lightning pxg max 10k

Almostni almost impressive how quickly “max 10k” (and similar descriptors) have become the standard way of industry to show the most forgiving driver in any particular formation.
So yes, it’s a sure bet that lightning max 10k will replace standard black options and all the XF versions that came before it.
The USGA list does not provide a number of MOI (at least nothing more specific than 10K), but it is reasonable to assume that it will be in the same general ball as 10K options from Ping, Tayormade, Cobra and Tour Edge.
Like other latest Pxg models, Lightning Max 10k will offer a 3 weight configuration. This generally allows players to call more apologies or few prejudice of withdrawal (at least this is the assumption in a maximum head 10k).
What is interesting is that PXG typically placed its weights forward on the extreme perimeter, but the front weights in the three lightning models they offer are significantly more centralized.
Given the 10K nomenclature, let’s, now, assume that PXG is not paying a penalty for it.
The USGA ranking includes Lofts of 8-, 9-, 10.5- and 12-degree. An 8 -degree option in a Max Moi head is unusual, but it is likely to talk to the reality that the extreme weight of return can lead to excess attic and high rotation. Falling to eight degrees offers an opportunity for faster swinging and other players that create some extra dynamic attic to achieve functional results from a Max Moi head.
Lightning Pxg Max Lite

The least movable driver in the next lineup, the name of Lite suggests, well, that’s clear, isn’t it?
They expect the Lite lightning to be an easier version of any technology that is mature in the lineup. Typically, the target audience involves rapidly challenged players, along with anyone else struggling to generate enough rotation rates.
Max Lite offers a port with back weight, but that will be to only the goals of weighing the swinging.
Light Lite Pxg Light is ranked 10.5- and 11.5-grads.
PXG Lightning Mid Mid

On the one hand, naming a “Tour Mid” driver will seem to suggest a medium rotation profile, so I think PXG deserves a little credit for continuing simplicity in the lightning formation naming conventions (we have made a long way since 0811). However, as the father of a 15-year-old, I wish everything with “between” in the name.
Let me suggest you check with a teenager before naming anything.
However, if this proves to be a mediocre performer, the name will have been a bit in the nose. You have been warned.
This is not a prediction (it is too early for this), but man… ABOUT The potential is a lot.
Tour Tour Lightning Mid Pxg is ranked 8-, 9.5- and 10.5-grads.
Pxg Lightning Tournament

We have covered that max Moi, that Lite and the one in the middle, which leaves us with Lightning Tour, which is almost certainly the lower rotary.
Guys, you were fine reusing max, and Lite, but LS was a bridge too far?
Pxg usually avoided extreme low rotation drivers, so I think it is quite reasonable. Past models suggest that Lightning Tour will try to board the line between the tournament performance (the center of gravity forward) and the movable MOI.
Regarding the last generations of PXG drivers, I would argue that the company has done a good job to keep their most thankful models without overloading their lower rotation offers.
Do you make them in the middle?
I dig.
The PXG lightning tour is ranked 8-, 9.5- and 10.5-grads.
Price and availability
Honestly, even pressing that head feels a little click. The truth is, I have no idea when Pxg Lightning Leaders It will hit the retail and any information on the prices it gives you is based on a little more than speculation.
With that off -road denial, I will bet my money in a January release. In terms of prices, it will be $ 600 at a low end and is likely $ 650 at the high end, but I would say the same for every driver who appears on the USGA list between now and the end of January.
More information as it becomes available.
