O’Shaquie Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) achieved his goal of defeating WBC super featherweight champion Robson Conceicao (19-3-1, 9 KOs) in their rematch on Saturday night, defeating him by a 12-round split decision defeated, and he now wants to fight the winner of the Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez II Clash Fight. These two fight a rematch on December 7.

Foster said he wasn’t going to give Conceicao a rematch because he beat him in the first fight, and the judges gave him what he says was a “gift.” When told that some fans believe his win tonight is a gift, Foster said: “They can say what they want. I really don’t care.”
Foster has a selfish attitude about the rematch. A lot of people felt that Conceicao deserved the win the last time they fought because he did the better job. In tonight’s fight, Foster appeared to have given away a decision, and now he’s refusing to give Conceicao a rematch.
Foster’s performance tonight was another poor one, and it’s impossible to imagine him beating Navarrete or Valdez. The 31-year-old Foster has no power to compete against either of those fighters, and his Shakur style won’t work against them.
It will be more entertaining for fans if Top Rank keeps Foster in his own lane, defends his WBC title, and then the winner of the Robeisy Ramirez vs. Rafael Espinoza rematch moves up to 130 to face Navarrete-Valdez II winner.
Foster didn’t look good coming off his win over WBC super featherweight champion Conceicao, but he got the job done at the Turning Stone Resort Casino in Verona, New York. One judge had it 115-113 for Conceicao, and the other two scored it 115-113 and 115-113.
Conceicao said he wanted a third fight because he gave Foster a rematch. So, he feels it’s only fair that he gives him one too. It doesn’t look like Foster is going to do that, as he wants the bigger-paying fight against the winner of the Navarrete vs. Have Valdez 2 competition. He could make more money fighting one of them than Navarrete.
It would be on Top Rank to do a trilogy between Conceicao and Valdez. However, given how boring tonight’s fight was and the previous one last July, there isn’t much fan interest in a third fight. The only reason fans wanted to see the rematch is Foster’s loss.
If he had won the first fight by a close contested decision over Conceicao, there would not have been a demand because he is not that popular. This is not to say that Foster is popular. He certainly isn’t, but he has fans, and they were the ones who made a big fuss about his loss.
Conceicao had already been robbed twice in his fights against Valdez and Navarrarete, and fans didn’t care. None of the sanctioning bodies came forward to order a rematch. They just let it happen.
“His heart is incredible. He has a big heart,” Foster told the media about Conceicao after the fight. “I told you I was going to sharpen it and bring it to him. That was my goal.”
Foster didn’t step it up. That’s the whole problem. He said he was going to fight with more aggression, but it was the same approach by him as before. That’s why the fight was so close.
I’m still not satisfied with my performance, but I felt like I showed a lot of people my versatility,” Valdez said. “I want the winner of Emanuel Navarrete vs. Oscar Valdez.”
It would be in the best interest of fans if Top Rank did not match Foster against the winner of the Navarrete-Valdez fight. A better option would be to match Top Rank Raymond Muratalla against Foster in a sink-or-swim fight. If Foster believes in his skills, he shouldn’t have any of the problems Muratalla faces.
