Earth Force Golf shafts are designed with a unique approach that focuses on matching your swing characteristics, using your unique ground pressure data, to match you to one of their shafts. This ensures that each shaft is tailored to the golfer’s specific load/unload pattern. By doing this, Terra Forza believes you can maximize distance by optimizing distribution.
No flex or weight designation: their shafts are categorized by color rather than traditional flex or weight designations, focusing on the golfer’s swing for
achieve maximum playability. Here is a list of available Terra Forza axles:
- Red: More stable, ideal for fast and aggressive transitions.
- Yellow: Strong movements but less aggressive than red.
- White: For players with strong spin moves.
- blue: For players with a strong transition coupled with strong spin movements.
- ORANGE: For players with a transition stronger than green.
- Green: Lighter and smoother, for easier transitions.
There’s something unique about each swing within Terra Forza’s lineup, and players everywhere can benefit from learning a little about their swing in the assembly process.
Read on to see what our testers thought of their fit and performance Earth Force axis.
Key points:
- Adaptation: Testers were intrigued by the fitting process which used pressure plates and an iPad app to record your movement and analyze it by how you generate force. It surprised the testers that it took so few swings to lock into the ideal profile and then test for preferences towards that.
- Views: Classic, clean and simple but well made. Our testers couldn’t find anything wrong with the look of the axle, but at least one wished the Terra Forza would try to find a way to stand out from the crowd a little more.
- Feeling: Our testers settled on several different color shafts for the Terra Forza, which had a variety of different feels, but all testers were impressed with the lineup and had positive thoughts on the feel of the Terra Forza offerings.
- Numbers: Testers saw some big improvements in speed and durability with the Terra Forza axles. Some saw significant gains in free kick. One tester achieved a ball speed that had never been recorded before.
Adaptation:
The testers were equipped for it Earth Force thrust plate shaft and mounting application. It’s not a traditional axle setup, and some testers needed very little swing to narrow down which Terra Forza axle should be the starting point for the setup. Testers can then go up or down a profile depending on the feel.
Mike’s boss found the fit to be “super cool.” He noted; “I was skeptical (still am a little), but given what I saw of each axle on their site and what I know from past rigs, it got me pretty close to what I would have expected.”
MrBandit had this to say about his fit; “During the initial fit there was a definite increase in ball speed, carry and total yards from my current shaft on the TF White.”
Aesthetic appeal:
Terra Forza uses a clean and classic gloss black finish for most of their axles, with a clearly printed “Terra Forza” and “TF” logo in the color of that particular axle and some carbon fiber showing through the glove. Overall, our testers found it to be very well done and no one was put off by the design.
Mike’s boss said that “It’s a beautiful axle – the carbon fiber + yellow color scheme is sharp but not too flashy.”
GolfSpy_BOS added “Terra Forza is minimalistic and clean in its branding. The gloss black finish will pair well with most drivers, including my Epic Max LS with my black Lamkin Sonar+ handle. Black on black never seems to go out of style.”
WHEREAS Tdc1 said he “absolutely loves the simplicity and clean lines of the shaft. There is nothing distracting or flashy about the graphics, nor is the shaft filled with information about weight, flex, point of impact, etc. Minimalism when looking at the ball from down that really suits my eye.”
Feel, delivery and figures:
Each tester reported enjoying the feel of the shafts while seeing some significant improvements in speed and stability in their drivers.
Mike’s boss pointed out “I’ve hit some incredible tees with this shaft, in some cases ending up in places I’ve never been. In terms of consistency / accuracy, it was on par with my past shafts / rigs – maybe even better. The confidence on the tee was high.”
MrBandit said: “I expected it to be stiffer because of the weight, but it felt very stable. You’re comfortable to swing and you feel like you can be very aggressive.”
GolfSpy_BOS:”Intentional or not, the Terra Forza White shaft looks to me like a traditional “white” profile with a firmer touch handle. I have no way of checking, but I feel a lighter touch moving the weight in my hands against my player.”
What they liked:
Mike’s boss:”The fitting process seems like a high point – again, I was skeptical, but they kind of made me a believer. I’ve had 4-5 sites fitted in the past, and none came close to the performance of this one, which was only 5-10 swings that measured leg pressure + other stuff.”
GolfSpy_BOS:”For the first time in my life, I hit 160 mph ball speed with the Terra Forza White shaft! It wasn’t even a coincidence, because I did it several times in Rapsodo MLM2PRO.”
What they didn’t like:
There wasn’t much to complain about from the testers’ point of view. Of course, you have to be near a place that offers a Terra Forza device, which is a downside. But since the start of this member review, Terra Forza has announced more suitable locations as they look to build their network.
GolfSpy_BOS also wish the shaft stood out a bit more. While he noted that the shaft is very well finished with clear and clean printing, it is so classic and simple that a casual observer would likely not notice the shaft in another player’s bag.
conclusion:
All of our testers decided to keep the Terra Forza axle in play at the end of the testing session based on the performance benefits they found over their previous players.
Mike’s boss:”The fit was great. The shaft seems solid, better than my previous players. There were highs and lows, but overall I feel really good about where we got with this.”
Lord Bandit:”The numbers don’t lie and the confidence it has given me to hit driver on every hole instead of using a 5-wood is huge. The asking price may be high, hopefully it will come down, but if you’re in the market for a new axle, I’d add this to the list of strong contenders.”
GolfSpy_BOS:”The Terra Forza White shaft is a strong performer in the premium shaft market. I’ve hit some personal best ball and swing speeds with the Terra Forza White in the bag and had some extremely strong driving days.”
Tdc1:”TF Green will remain in my driver for the foreseeable future. Everything about it has made me more confident and effective off the tee.”
