Jill Scott
“Sometimes you can enter a cafe and people have buried faces on the phones, they don’t even know that someone is sitting at the table next to it.”
But while Jill Scott regrets a lamentable side effect of the technology that is in charge of modern society, he has seen first -hand the positive impact that something as simple as a football sticker can have.
The old lioness adores that collecting a sense of community among people. In recent times, Scott has been too happy to see his Manchester coffee shop, boxx2boxx, double as a cozy space where football fans can meet to talk and change their stickers.
This summer it will surely be different.
“I love when people come to the cafeteria and we have stickers and exchanging albums,” he says 90 minutesas Topp Start the new UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 collection.
“You can see these amazing conversations and also a kind of combination of different types of people. You see children talking to people who are usually not because they have this thing in common. And it’s a little life lesson:” You have some I need and can help you, “” interacting because you know you can help, “adds Scott.
“It’s a great atmosphere, like” I have this one, I have it! “Even the bright,” look! It is simply encouraging a conversation.
“Looking at the album of stickers that Topp They have created, it is of good quality. I think the important of the sticker albums and, when you were younger, I could only pick up the stickers of men, it is through these that you can learn about players, their names and statistics. It’s fantastic, especially with the world where we now live with a lot of technology, phones and tablets, which is OK, to see children with something physical, really putting stickers in a book. “
Scott is among several generations of players and people who were the men’s football stickers. For younger fans, women in stickers have become normal, fulfilling a growing demand in the cultural space next to the women’s game.
“I listen to so many stories of the new generation that are going into football, but the generation that probably likes the women who did not have this opportunity (collect women’s football stickers) when they were younger, and now,” he says.
Ultimately, the sticker collected by generations, from young children asking for money from their parents, to nostalgic cultivation adults with available revenue to buy their own packages. Scott, 38, retired as a footballer for three years, has already been trying the Euro 2025 collection and admits to finding that adherence has a therapeutic quality.
“Sometimes I have sat with this one night, and with the dead work, it is very nice to relax, and it really helps me,” he offers. “Doing something like this, if I feel a little restless, I give me my mind. I also make so many childhood memories for me, asking for money from my mam, running in the store, getting a pack of stickers and looking for your favorite players.”
When it comes to real things in the Switzerland pitch this summer, Scott, a European champion with England The last time in the last consequence of a defining career at the time, it has all the confidence that their former colleagues can retain the reference title they won in the floor of the house in 2022.
“I think they can do it? 100%,” he says firmly.
England has also been in the World Cup final since the last euros. But with a good handful of disappointing results in successive UEFA Nations campaigns, as well as being far from the perfect grade of euros, there is no doubt that it will be difficult, especially because there is no time to sleep.
“The way I see it, when you are in a tournament; I was fortunate enough to play four euros female, you are trying in the group stage to get impulse for the knockouts,” says Scott.
“But I think because of the difficulty of the group, Netherlands, France, Wales, England has to hit the ground.
Even with some criticism in recent months, Scott believes that a “fantastic” workforce, many of which were there in 2022, will increase when it really counts.
“There is always a bit of abandonment. It is so difficult for the sport to continue and pass, hitting these levels all the time,” he says. “But the Earn Wembley against Spain (in February), it was definitely a sign that the lions have returned.
“ This is the standard we expected every time they move on the pitch. I think the goal of their back will probably be the biggest (challenge), but the girls are so good and mentally very strong.I know they will take each game as it comes and Sarina (Wiegman) is so good to block exterior noise, emotion. This is why it is one of the best women in the world.
“Great players increase in great moments and England have many.
With the tastes of her Toone and Alessia Russo who make a name for themselves in 2022 as new and emerging players, regularly changing the bench games, Scott names Grace Clinton by Manchester United, new caps currently, such as his selection to be the next star of England this summer.
“Grace Clinton is someone who excites me,” he says.
“Everyone always looks at the goals and goals, but what I see about Grace is the one who follows the whole way, putting himself in attack and scoring many goals with his head. For me, he is the player in the midfield.
