The Houston Astros have been one of the best teams in Major League Baseball as they have appeared in seven consecutive American League championships.
Although that streak was snapped in 2024, the Astros still won the American League West, 88-73.
The Astros’ dynasty may be over, however, as they traded outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs and third baseman Alex Bregman did not sign as a free agent.
Former MLB GM Jim Bowden recently revealed what the Astros should do with Bregman.
“Houston has to get it done,” Bowden said via Sirius XM’s MLB Network Radio.

Bregman debuted with the Astros in 2016 and has spent all nine seasons of his MLB career with the organization.
Since then, Bregman has been a key contributor to their long-term success.
In 2024, Bregman played 145 games and hit .260 with 26 home runs, 75 RBI and a .768 OPS.
After trading Tucker to the Cubs, Bowden said he believed the Astros should re-sign Bregman not only for his performances on the field, but also for his presence in the clubhouse.
The 30-year-old reportedly has interest from multiple teams, so it will be interesting to see if the Astros pay to bring him back as they look to make their ninth straight postseason appearance and win their fifth straight AL West title. in
Bregman is a name to watch for a possible decision soon.
