Floyd Sr. is of the opinion that there was never a real interest in Abdullah Mason’s team to fight Schofield JR. In other words, it was just theaters. Mason did not intend to be allowed to fight someone who is dangerous like Schofield.
It was more about promoting Mason by identifying his name with Schofield’s and giving the impression that he was trying to challenge him. It plays well and receives masons’ attention from fans and the media he would not usually get because he is not promoted.
Schofield jr. (18-0, 12 food) says he thinks it’s strange that Mason’s management sent an offer and then someone else went to fight.
