Fans Rohit Sharma’s Ton and Virat Kohli’s Half-Century Kohli’s 3rd ODI as Australia comprehensively win India

Inside India Tour Final Odi 2025 At the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), the men in blue gave a resounding performance to beat the visitors by nine wickets.

The day was supported by an impressive bowling effort from India’s opening and middle-order stars, which restricted the Australian line-up.

Australian innings: Matt Renshaw bats for the home team

After winning the first toss and toss, Australia struggled to build momentum against a disciplined Indian attack. A solid foundation was laid by the top order, but consistent wicket-taking halted any significant scoring run.

The backbone of Australia’s innings was a blistering half-century from middle-order batsman Matthady Matthadh, who smashed 56 off 58 balls. Contributions also came from Mitchell Marsh (41) and Matthew Short (30), but the team were all out for a modest 236 at 46.4 overs.

The star with the ball for India was young pacer Harshit Rana, who flexed at his best to claim four wickets for 39 runs in just 39 overs. He was well supported by Washington Sundar Sundar (2/44) and AXAR PATEL (1/18), the Spin Duo (1/18) who applied pressure through the middle overs.

Indian innings: The Rohit and Kohli show

Chasing 237 for victory, India’s chase was clinical, relentless and quite fast. The tone was set by captain Rohit Sharma, who showed vintage form, powering his way to a magnificent century.

Rohit’s 121 runs came off 125 balls with 3 including 13 fours and 3 stumpings. Shubman Gill quickly made 24 (the only wicket taken by Josh Hazlewood), Virat Kohli went to partner his captain and the duo crushed Australia’s hopes. Kohli played a perfect anchor while still dominating the attack as he scored 74 runs off 81 deliveries.

Their massive partnership saw India reach the target, chasing the target in just 38.3 overs (237/1) and securing a comprehensive 9-wicket victory. Australia’s bowlers, including Mitchell Starc and Adam Zampa, struggled to find a breakthrough, highlighting the quality of India’s batting display.

Player of the match

Rohit Sharma was adjudged player of the match for his magnificent century. He was named player of the series for his phenomenal batting performances in his 50-over leg.

Australia took the series 2-1 1-1 thanks to wins in the first two ODIs, while India’s dominant performance in the final match gave the traveling fans a great finish to the series.
