The Houston Astros made the playoffs for the eighth consecutive season by winning the American League West.
Although the Astros started the postseason again, their streak of seven consecutive American League appearances ended with a loss to the Detroit Tigers.
Last season saw the Astros part ways with outfielder Kyle Tucker when he was traded to the Chicago Cubs.
After losing Tucker, the Astros could also lose third baseman Alex Bregman to free agency.

In this scenario, the Astros reach an agreement to sign first baseman Christian Walker from the Arizona Diamondbacks.
In 2024, Walker played 130 games and batted .251 with 26 home runs, 84 RBI and an .803 OPS.
The other new face in the lineup is third baseman Isaac Paredes, who was acquired in the Tucker trade with the Cubs and could fill Bregman’s spot at third base.
Some fans thought this proposed lineup looked good and the Astros would continue to be a competitive team, while others felt the outfield needed some help.
The Astros will try for a fifth straight division title in 2025 and eighth in the last nine seasons.
