Major League Baseball’s offseason has been in the spotlight this year thanks to a talented free agent class.
While many high-profile players are beginning to sign with new teams, there are also deals involving some of the league’s best players.
Juan Soto, this season’s top free agent, recently signed a 15-year, $765 million contract with the New York Mets.
While that historic deal stole most of the attention, a major trade involving the Chicago Cubs and Houston Astros was completed.
According to FOX Sports: MLB, the Cubs acquired outfielder Kyle Tucker from the Astros for two infielders and a pitcher.

As an Astros fan, I’m sad to see Tucker go, but I also feel like we just got better

Cubs and Astros fans felt the end of the deal was better, while others felt both teams improved.
Tucker made his debut with the Astros in 2018 and has spent all seven seasons of his career with them.
After four straight solid seasons, Tucker was cemented as one of the best players in the league.
In 2024, Tucker was limited to 78 games due to injuries, but hit .289 with 23 home runs, 49 RBI and a .993 OPS.
The Cubs have missed the postseason for four straight seasons, but they added a new weapon to their offense in the 2025 season trade, third baseman Isaac Paredes.
Tucker will now help the Cubs try to win their first NL Central title after a shortened 2020 season.
