Canelo Alvarez today receives criticism from fans on social media after defending his teammate Jaime Munguia, after being positive for exogenous testosterone metabolites on May 4 after his victory over Bruno Surace.
Munguia’s failed PED test
Jaime Munguia’s A-Sample tested positive for his 12-round victory over Surace on May 3 in Riyadh.
Munguia has since come out with a statement and denies that he has taken any Peds and said he is a “Full surprise” that he failed the test. He pointed out that he passed tests during the camp for the Bruno Surace match. Munguia states that he would have his B sample tested.
Fans consider the positive test of Mungiaa as a sign that something under coach Eddy Reynoso is underway, which is Canelo, Munguia and other popular fighters who have failed drug tests. Users on social feel that it makes the team look suspicious. Many of them find it difficult to believe that Reynoso does not know what is going on with fighters like Munguia.
