Mumbai sets mammoth target against Goa in VHT 2025-26
Mumbai came out swinging and never took their foot off the gas. The innings began at a furious pace, with the openers reaching 31 for no loss earlier. Angkrish RaghuvanshiHis short stay ended on the 11th. Jaiswal then steadied things with Musheer as the pair calmly rebuilt and took the score past 100 for the first wicket. Even after Musher’s departure, Mumbai were well settled at 194 for three, setting the stage for a full onslaught. Sarfaraz took charge from there, turning the innings on its head with a fearless stroke that increased the run rate.
Doors Siddhesh Lad and captain Shardul Thakur fell quickly but did little to stem the charge as Mumbai climbed to 281 for five. After Sarfaraz’s departure, Hardik Tamore ensured the momentum remained intact and scored 53 off just 28 balls. found helpful support from Shams Mulani and aggressive Tanush Kotianwhile Tushar Deshpande scratched at the end. The overs also played their part as Mumbai piled on the runs and eventually closed at a daunting 444 for eight in 50 overs. Goa now face a tough chase of 445 as Mumbai tighten their grip on the top of Group C with a perfect run so far, while Goa remain second after their solid wins earlier in the tournament.
