History

During the summer of 1920, an eight -year -old Walter Hagen set out to prepare for his first open championship. In doing so, he may have inadvertently ended one of the greatest rounds of practice in history. How can this practice describe this round? Unortodox. According to Walter Hagen, this never thought as he and the Englishman Jim Barnes traversed the British coastline.

“While we were in London for 1920 British Open, Jim Barnes and I started one morning to play the three links as if they were one. After playing eleven holes in the course of the deal, we threw a fence in the sandwich and played ten holes there, crossed the prince’s connections and finished all the holes there, returning to the original starting site. Those who are familiar with Hagen’s original journey know that there are two interpretations: Hagen Hoof and Hagen 54.

Only members

Hagen Hoof, is an event exclusively for members of the three clubs. In time she has evolved into a competition between those belonging to the three clubs. The clubs campaign a small team to compete for the Hagen Hoof annual trophy which commemorates Walter Hagen’s journey along the agreement and the Sandwich coast. While this unique event of “members only” is not open to the public, the formation of Hagen 54 Now allows players from all over the world to cross the British coast and walk in Hagen’s shoes.

Conversely, Hagen 54 It is an event for non -members seeking to recreate the original Hagen loop. And while shares may not match those in the “hoof”, participants still undertake to the experience of golf at his best as they cross the British coast and walk in The Hagen shoes. Participants will play the same three courses as Hagen (just not in Hagen fashion).

George, players experience iconic holes as the sixth and par-5 fourteenth, at the Royal Cinque Port you will play what Gary Player called “undoubtedly the best four consecutive holes in every course in the world” and the twenty-seven prince holes provide three distinct styles in designing connections. Logistics

Hagen 54 will return the players to return about £ 998 a person (or approximately $ 1,286). The event provides participants with a world -class experience following what they call “Hagen Street”. But is it worth it?

Depends on your view of value. Flights, optional cadets and have to pay for your housing, all add additional costs that are not included in your registration.
