Arsenal will assess Fabio Vieira’s future in 2025 after allowing the midfielder to join FC Porto on loan for the 2024/25 campaign.
The 24-year-old joined the Premier League club from the Portuguese giants in the 2022 summer transfer window as part of a Offer of 34 million euros but he has not managed to consolidate a regular starting position in Mikel Arteta’s team.
The Portuguese talent has been a rotation player in the 49 games he has played for the north London side so far and Arsenal decided it would be best for the midfielder to be loaned out for the current season to gain more experience for try it and progress with the Premier League club.
Vieira returned to Porto, but there is no option to buy clause in his loan deal, reports Fabrizio Romano. The transfer reporter claims Arsenal want to assess the 24-year-old’s situation in 2025, which is why the option to buy is not included.

By sending Vieira to Porto for the season, Arsenal have given the player a chance to save his Arsenal career, as the 24-year-old would not have received many minutes at the Emirates Stadium during the current campaign .
The Portuguese talent played just 561 minutes last season, despite the player missing a large part of the campaign with a groin injury.
While Vieira is versatile and can play in a number of roles, Arsenal’s forward line is stacked, with Arteta likely to increase his options next summer. The 24-year-old is unlikely to have a future with the Premier League club, but at least the north London outfit are giving him a chance.
