Everyone loves a great coastal hole. A range of excellent coastal holes is even better. Or, for the final treatment (especially when it comes to removing your golf with difficulty in distant land), multiple while with tens of large holes sliding along the sea. Say greeting your little friend – the Dominican Republic.
Indeed, if there was ever a place where a neoprene golf shirt could help (you know, for those unexpected wave attacks), is the place of Caribbean -rich Golf that we often refer to as “Dr.”
And, although this island nation is quite small – at 18,800 square miles, it is approximately the same size as South Carolina – boasts more coastal golf holes than elsewhere in the Caribbean.
Of the 27 country golf courses, six boast holes immediately along the ocean. And, according to the official tourism website of the Dominican Republic, there are a total of 39 coastal holes in the country and 86 additional holes that, although not right in the water, serve excellent ocean views.

Although you will have to wait until mid -December 2025 to play legendary “The dog’s teeth“The course (currently closed for a big” modernization “) at the luxury Casa de Campo resort in La Romana, though it will be worth waiting. Dominican republic in Dominican. 100 the world’s latest golf courses in the world Ranking, it sits in position no. 75.
Dye had over three miles of coastline to use for golf holes in the “dog teeth”, which is named after sharp rock formations “similar to teeth” and corals right in the offshore. And, it is not surprising, he used the full advantage. Seven holes are headed to the surfued coast. Dye was famous, “I created 11 holes and the Lord created seven.” Perhaps the most delicious small treatment is par-3 5, which requires a short short nerve stroke in a small green that is removed on the windy waves.
You will also want to save some good oscillations for the 17th, a harsh par-4ths floating along the chopped waves. Here the “God” requires that you do not make a strong laser blow and follow it with a long frozen smell iron, with soft soil to keep green. Maybe say a quick prayer on the topic before you get, ah, “baptized”.

Given the amount of coastal drama in Punta Espada“The Almighty” should probably take an architectural cry here as well. Located near Punta Cana and some of the best white sandy beaches on the planet, Punta Espada, a long Nicklaus crusade, contains eight holes along the Caribbean Sea. And it does not take long before the action with high adrenaline begins. (May want to put your wings of water before you go out.)
2-— a wonderful par-5 that shoots in the sea-starts an excellent string with three holes along the blue blue ocean. And in the back of the waters, nine, 13, 13, 16, 17 and 18 all kiss in the Caribbean Sea. The 13th, a long up-3 uphill containing a forced retaining over a breast breast on the left, can easily be a round devastating. A stroke hit by the green right (visible place to lose), unfortunately, will start away from the surface. While it can be some of Jack’s most beautiful works, they are certainly no longer his loved ones.
After golf – and to take advantage of those extraordinary beaches! – Your nearby resort should provide all the psychological recovery you need to make some in the sea. For example, if you are looking to enter Punta Espada, you can reserve a stay at Sanctanty Cap Cana nearby. This comprehensive luxury resort, only for adults is one of the best in this celestial strip of sand and sea. (In the opinion of this journalist, they do a masterful job by mixing luxury with the attractive, inclusive formula.)
No insult to your game, but you can find a more capable group playing in the Corales Puntacana Championship this week. For the 7th direct year will be kept in the spectacular course of the designed corales Resort Puntacana. There should be plenty of wide -eyed, world -class players standing on the rocks looking at the spectacle of wave destruction.
While par-4 18 in Corales, which tempts the brave to explode their ball over the beaten water in the breast, is a thin final, every coastal hole in the course (there are four) is great. However, the strong collection of interior holes here, which contains the fantastic form of bunkering and the shape of Fazio’s eyes, rightly positions the corales as a high -level Caribbean course.

Although the “younger brother” in the resort worktacana-with 27 pb holes with coloring La Cana GC-UNDS not as spoken as Corales, it serves to strong coastal golf. There are 14 ocean holes here and three rights in the water. However, nine underwear, Hacienda, is probably the best of three nine. It traverses the jungle and boasts excellent shot values across.
Two other strokes-especially when it comes to the theatrical from-Deti-are Playa Grande GC on the north coast and PGA Ocean’s 4, which is on the south coast.
Playa Grande, which was the latest golf course created by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., is an ultra-private enclave that is only available to members or guests of the luxury Amera resort. However, if you belong to this brotherhood and you are able to play, you will be treated in eight coastal holes that enter the peninsula and withstand one of the most memorable Golf experiences in the Caribbean. (Visitors to Amanera, after paying a minimum of $ 2,500 per night, will have to remove $ 695 to play the course. The $ 40 Caddy graph for the carriage is extra. Caddies are mandatory in most wealthy courses in the country. Waiting to pay $ 220 or more in all courses presented in this story.)
However, one can tell a much more “accessible” story Ocean PGA 4A coastal course under the radar located between Santo Domingo and La Romana. This contemporary appearance, which was created by Maverick Golf, contains four holes in the ocean and includes park, desert and lake holes in internal sections. It is a well-rounded experience, better than SA-you think it can be easily added to a itinerary, especially if you are planning to be in the La Romana area.
Of course, another important benefit of coastal courses in the Dominican Republic is warm, tropical weather. Unlike our famous old world connecting golf destinations in the Dominican Republic, there is never a need for basic layers, neck gaiters, beans, thermal golf gloves and the like. Sun cream, shorts and neoprene? Bring it.
