Liverpool and Arsenal are also monitoring the situation of Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, while Manchester City are working on a potential €80m deal.
Sources have said Caught offside this City have been negotiating for Marmoush and there is some confidence in getting the deal done, although a stumbling block is the high asking price and Eintracht’s unwillingness to sell.

Arsenal open to signing striker SURPRISED by Mikel Arteta’s goal
Marmoush has shone in the Bundesliga and looks set to be worth spending big on, with the 25-year-old surely more than good enough to play for several of the world’s biggest clubs.
Arsenal certainly need an attacking signing like this more than anyone, so their interest isn’t too surprising, even if a deal now looks unlikely for them.
What other transfers could be worth keeping an eye on this January?
Caught offside understands Arsenal also have Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic on their target list up front, so he could still end up being a story to watch out for this January.
Vlahovic seems unlikely to sign a new contract at Juve, which could open the door to a move to the Emirates Stadium, although it could also depend on the availability of other players.
Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha They have also been mentioned as long-term targets for Arsenal, but may be more likely in the summer.
Liverpool, meanwhile, seem open to letting Darwin Núñez go for the right price, which could explain their interest in Marmoush.
However, nothing seems imminent for Nunez to leave Anfield, so this could be one that will have to wait until the summer, when the Reds will most likely have to look for alternatives.
