A few days before the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction, 19-year-old batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi has caught the attention of cricket fans. During the IPL 2025 mega auction, there were speculations that Angkrish Raghuvanshi could be targeted by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB).
Angkrish Raghuvanshi came into limelight during the 2022 ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup where he became India’s top run-scorer. He played an important role in securing the trophy for the team. The right-handed batsman has showcased his talent in his limited chances in the Indian Premier League 2024.
Raghuvanshi was bought by former champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for Rs 20 lakh in last year’s IPL auction. He played 10 games for Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 season. The young batsman averaged 163 runs at an average of 23.3 and an impressive strike rate of 155.24, including one fifty.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ashutosh Sharma appeared in RCB Tests
According to RCBIANS Official, Royal Challengers Bengaluru held trials ahead of IPL 2025 auction on Tuesday. Mo Bobat and Dinesh Karthik oversaw the trials in which two IPL stars, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Ashutosh Sharma joined the Bengaluru-based team, sparking interest among RCB fans.

Angkrish Raghuvanshi is likely to be a good fit for RCB in IPL 2025 given his aggressive batting style and versatility in the top order. He is viewed as a potential long-term asset for the franchise. Raghuvanshi is considered as the number 3 batsman while Ashutosh Sharma is seen as the finisher.
Along with Raghuvanshi and Sharma, other players like Delhi pacer Money Grewal, M Siddharth, Manvanth Kumar and Deepak Devadiga also participated in the RCB trials.
Trials do not guarantee that players will be part of RCB’s IPL 2025 squad
The trials do not guarantee that the players will be part of RCB’s IPL 2025 squad, but they indicate the franchise’s interest in targeting them.
RCB still has a huge purse of Rs 83 crore and three RTM cards in IPL 2025 after retaining Virat Kohli, Yash Dayal and Rajat Patidar. The team will be using RTM cards, especially after releasing some big names who are key performers for them.
