The name of the KTM MotoGP team
KTM is officially known as Red Bull KTM Factory Racing. The energy drink company has been the title sponsor since 2017.
Red Bull owner Mark Matschitz has a close business relationship with KTM boss Stephane Pierre. They sponsor the satellite team Tech3.
KTM founding year
The KTM company was founded in It dates back to 1934, but didn’t enter MotoGP until 2017. They have previously participated in the series, supplying engines to Team Roberts.
They attended the 2016 Valencia Grand Prix for the first time before their first full season. KTM has already established a presence in the Moto3 Championship.
KTM’s current MotoGP riders
KTM has signed one of MotoGP’s youngest riders in Pedro Acosta for 2025. Acosta partnered with veteran Brad Binder after graduating from Tech3.
Binder was already under contract and Acosta earned a multi-year extension after his stellar rookie performance. Jack Miller will lose his seat to the Spaniard and run for Pramac instead.
KTM’s current team manager and leadership hierarchy
Stéphane Pierre is KTM’s overall CEO, while Pete Beyer takes over the MotoGP team as motorsport director. Team manager Francesco Guidotti leaves at the end of 2024, replaced by Aki Ajo.
KTM has decided to distribute the position of technical director for 2025. Instead, they share responsibilities among several engineers, including Ajo and Sebastian Reese.
KTM are the MotoGP builder.
KTM is one of five factory teams on the 2025 grid. They are joined by Honda, Yamaha, Ducati and Aprilia.
They supply bikes to the Tech3 team in France. KTM will appear in their team name from 2025 instead of GasGas – another brand owned by Pierre.
Which bike will KTM field in the 2025 MotoGP season?
KTM have yet to take the wraps off their MotoGP bike for the 2025 season. Last year they provided two factory spec bikes to Tech3, which allowed Acosta to finish within two points of Binder.

Since entering the premier class in 2017, KTM has failed to win any rider championships.

Similarly, KTM has yet to win the MotoGP teams title. Binder and Miguel Oliveira. In 2022 they secured second place behind Ducati.
The KTM MotoGP constructors’ championship
Aprilia and KTM are the only two teams without a constructors’ crown at MotoGP level. However, the Austrian team has managed to finish 2nd behind Ducati in the last two years.
Based on the KTM factory
The extensive KTM brand is based in the small town of Matighofen, near the Austrian city of Salzburg. They have been there since they were founded almost 100 years ago.
The MotoGP team operates from a dedicated motorsport facility in Münsterfingen, just minutes away. The site was opened in 2016.
