Table leaders Liverpool make the short trip to Stanley Park on Saturday as they visit Everton at Goodison Park for the last time in the Premier League.
With the Toffees moving to a new stadium for the 2025/26 campaign, this will be the last time they host Liverpool at Goodison in the Premier League, and probably never. The ground has witnessed Merseyside derbies since 1892 and Everton will be looking to end that particular chapter this Saturday.
Everton won their home meeting with Liverpool last season and have lost just one of their last seven against their neighbors at Goodison. After Wednesday’s 4-0 thrashing of Wolverhampton Wanderers at home, the Toffees will be eager to get going this weekend.
Liverpool endured a tougher test in midweek as they traveled to St James’ Park. An exciting 3-3 draw with Newcastle United saw their lead at the top of the Premier League table cut to seven points and another lapse on Saturday is likely to be capitalized on by Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City.
Arne Slot’s side have still only been beaten once this season and their first Merseyside derby is one that could have huge ramifications. He will get a quick taste of the ferocity of this match on Saturday at noon.
here it is 90 minutes Merseyside derby guide.

evertonThe big midweek win will serve as a huge confidence boost ahead of Liverpool’s visit and the Toffees seemingly came out of the game unscathed by injuries. Sean Dyche has a strong squad heading into Saturday but still has some fitness issues.
In midfield, James Garner and Tim Iroegbunam are missing from Everton, and are not expected to return until the end of December. Up top, Youssef Chermiti remains sidelined with a long-term foot injury picked up in pre-season.
Dyche is unlikely to name a drastically different line-up to the one that saw four past Old Gold on Wednesday night, with a 4-4-1-1 formation likely to be used to frustrate the division leaders.
Everton’s predicted line-up against Liverpool (4-4-1-1): Pickford; Young, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Ndiaye, Gueye, Mangala, McNeil; Doucoure; Calvert-Lewin.
Slot could make changes from the midweek draw on Tyneside, particularly in defence. Trent Alexander-Arnold will return to the starting line-up after registering two assists from the bench against Newcastle, while Jarell Quansah and Joe Gomez, both unconvincing on Wednesday, will compete for a centre-back spot in place of the injured Ibrahima . Konate.
Alisson is closing in on a comeback and Caoimhin Kelleher’s disappointing performance on Wednesday shows he is still a long way from his team-mate’s level despite being an excellent deputy. However, the Brazilian, like Kostas Tsimikas at left-back, is likely to miss the Merseyside derby, while Conor Bradley is still absent at right-back.
Alexis Mac Allister collected his fifth yellow card of the season against Newcastle and will miss the clash with Everton through suspension. Curtis Jones could drop into a deeper role to cover or Slot could turn to Wataru Endo or Tyler Morton.
In the forward line, Diogo Jota remains missing after picking up a rib injury against Chelsea last October. Federico Chiesa has returned to team training and could be part of the squad for Saturday’s matchday.
Liverpool predicted line-up against Everton (4-2-3-1): Kelleher; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Gravenberch, Jones; Salah, Szoboszlai, Gakpo; Diaz
Although Everton are currently 15th in the table, Liverpool He knows better than anyone the dangers of visiting Goodison. They have only tasted victory in two of their last 12 trips to Stanley Park, nine of those trips ending in a draw.
With their egos slightly dented by Wednesday’s trip to St James’ Park and some key contributors missing in defense and midfield, Liverpool could find life tough against the stubborn and combative Toffees.
Liverpool will obviously be favorites for this one, but you can never bet against a draw in a Merseyside derby at Goodison. It would be a fitting result to the farewell stadium tour.
