The Ring, Riyadh season and Sela are reportedly no longer involved with the Chris Eubank Jr. Against Conor Benn Rematch. They will not be involved if there is a second fight.
Eubank jr. (35-3, 25 COs) dragged his feet over the Rematch, which was supposed to take place on September 20. It is believed that the weight and rehydration problems were the obstacle to him.
Eubank jr. Against Benn Rematch Off
Eubank jr. Went through torture to get to the 160 pound limit on April 26 for the first fight with the welterweight Benn. The double whammy of a 10-pound rehydration clause made it even more of a nightmare for him.
Fans are overwhelmingly pleased that the Eubank Jr.-Benn Rematch is off because they felt it was a useless struggle. Eubank jr. Proved to be the better fighter of the two in April, and defeated Benn with a unanimous 12-round decision by the scores 116-112, 116-112 and 116-112. It was not a close struggle to raise any question for a re -broadcast.
Health risks: eubank weight cutting
Benn looked stretched out. A second battle would have been risky for the health of eubank jr. Due to the weight terms. At this point in the 35-year-old Eubank JR’s career, he is a solid super-middleweight, and it is crazy that he has to fight at 160 to fight and then place himself through a 10-pound rehydration clause. The combination of the two would endanger his life.
With the re -broadcast against Benn now apparently down, it frees eubank jr. (35) To be available for a possible battle against Canelo Alvarez in February 2026. The Mexican star has not yet said who he will fight on that date because he still has his title defense against Terence Crawford to take care of September 13.
Hearn wants Shakur against Benn
Conor Benn’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has already swept the idea today of him following Shakur Stevenson. He likes that fight, and Shakur was also in favor of the idea.
Sources informed the ring that both the Riyadh season and Sela are no longer involved in the re -broadcast between Chris Eubank Jr. and Conor Benn.
