Erislandy Lara against Yoenlin Hernandez can be added to the Canelo Alvarez against William Scull Undercard on May 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This match between two former Cuban amateur talents will add value to the growing map of the Riyadh season, and it could arise a more entertaining battle than the main event.

WBA middleweight champion Lara (31-3-3, 19 COs) would make his fourth defense of his belt which he captured in 2021. The Hernandez (7-0, 7 COs) would by far the most difficult test for the 41-year-old Lara if this fight is fed, because this man is a big puncher, fights at a high level and much younger at 27.

The Southpaw Lara has had an easy road since winning the WBA belt in 2021. In his three defense, he beat Gary O’Sullivan, Michael Zerafa and Danny Garcia. This is not exactly the killer of the killer, but it also reflects how weak the middleweight section is now.
Yoenli Hernandez will take a big step in class if the battle is made with Erislandy Lara. In three -year -old professional Hernandez’s recent battles, he beat Angel Ruiz Astorga, Bryce Henry and Jose Sanchez Charles. It all developed battles for Hernandez and nowhere near the level of Lara.
Additional battles are expected to be added to this growing map as the weeks and months progress. It would not be surprising if this event is just as well filled as the February 22 card in Riyadh.
Also on the Canelo-Scull Card is the re-broadcast between Super Middeeight contender Jaime Munguia and Bruno Surace. The two fought last December, with Surace Munguia knocking out in the sixth round in front of his hometown fans in Tijuana, Mexico. Munguia vs. Surace is the co-function for the 3rd of May Riyadh season.
