Erik ten Hag has insisted he is “not thinking” about losing his job as Manchester United manager.
The Red Devils’ bad start to the season continued with a Lose 3-0 at home to Tottenham Hotspur on sunday
Ten Hag managed to keep his job against the odds at the end of the 2023/24 campaign after his side surprisingly beat rivals Manchester City in the FA Cup final. However, united recorded their lowest ever Premier League position with an eighth-place finish, while finishing bottom of their UEFA Champions League group.
United’s new club hierarchy discussed the possibility of a replacement Ten Hag before ultimately deciding to keep faith with the Dutchman, but his position has once again been called into question after failing to impress this term.
In Sunday’s post-match press conference, Ten Hag dismissed suggestions he could be sacked.
“No, not thinking about it,” he said. “We all came together, that decision, to stay together as an ownership, as a leadership group in the summer.
“And we have also made the decision based on a clear review, what we need to improve as an organization and how we want to build a squad. They all make decisions together.
“But we also knew it would take some time because of the way the window went, some players arrived late like (Manuel) Ugarte, we have to integrate him now. Also we had to make some improvements in the organization, we still have to do it. deal with some injuries, impact players there we will improve, we need time.
“We’re all there on the same page, one ship, together, the ownership, the leadership group, the squad, the player group as well, so I don’t have that concern.
“Of course, there’s always a new game, there’s going to be a new day and obviously you have to learn as a team as well.”
