Chelsea are reaping the benefits of Enzo Fernández’s current positive form as the Argentine star provided another assist for the Blues’ opener against Southampton.
The opening phase of the 2024/25 campaign has been a very positive one for Enzo Maresca’s side as the London club went into their Premier League clash with Southampton third in the table on Wednesday night, while the English giants are also leaders of the UEFA Europa Conference League. table
While things have been positive for Chelsea in general, Enzo Fernández’s tenure has been mixed.
The World Cup winner was left out of the Blues’ starting 11 for most of October and November as Maresca preferred Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia as a midfield two. giving rise to links with Real Madrid, champion of the League.
However, Fernandez has turned the tables in recent weeks as the 23-year-old has been in fine form since facing Arsenal on 10 November.

Ahead of Chelsea’s clash with Southampton on Wednesday, Fernandez was in one course of contributing to the objectives during the London outfit’s last three Premier League games against Arsenal, Leicester and Aston Villa.
The Argentine star produced two goals and two assists in these three matches and the midfielder continued his run against Southampton.
The 23-year-old curled in a corner for Axel Disasi to latch onto, giving Enzo Maresca’s side a 1-0 lead over Saints.
Fernandes has made it four games in a row to contribute goals and Chelsea fans will be hoping the midfielder’s run of form continues as the London club take on Tottenham next time out.
